Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is just what it sounds like, the Internet allows for people both anonymous and not to torment people and bully them for things that they might post or to attack their character. Cyberbullying is mostly found happening over social media. The NY times article points out how one student threatened to shoot people at their high school through Myspace messaging. I think ultimately one way to stop cyberbullying is to limit Internet access and usage for teens who are more susceptible to that type of behavior. People in general need to learn how to block\ignore people as they would in real life. Keeping yourself out of certain situations would help to eliminate the possibility of cyberbullying as well. If cyberbullying is a real problem for certain people, a very real and viable solution is to just take a break from the Internet as a whole.

  1. Being away from the situation and learning to block and ignore the comments would good ways to avoid the cyber bulling and not letting it get to you.

  2. Blocking can help stop some of it in my opinion, but not all of it. Sometimes people can still find ways to get to you again if you blocked them on AIM, then they find your Facebook.
